Change, a word that we resist, a word that we struggle with, a word that is inevitable in life.

clock

Change is life's way of helping us to not hold on too tightly to people, things and  ideas.  To evolve is to change, to grow is to change.  So why the struggle?  We humans love to know the outcome of things before we actually begin a process and venture into the unknown, so once we become familiar with something we don't want that something to be different or change.

What I have discovered in my own life about change is that yes it is uncomfortable, sometimes almost unbearably uncomfortable, but if I let go of the resistance of the change and let it flow naturally the way it is intended to flow, I will be moved to a new place in life that restores my passion, my energy and my curiosity about my existence.

Change is one of the many gifts we are given.  Without change we would stagnate, atrophy and die.  Allow the changes to come.  Letting go and holding on are but for a season never meant to last a lifetime.  Learn to change and you will learn one of the many secrets of peace, joy and a deep resounding love.

Belief in yourselfHow do you know when you have just reached a limiting belief?  Pain!  Yes I have looked at this each time I butt up against one of my limiting beliefs and it is extremely uncomfortable! My chest constricts, fear, panic, and confusion set in, then I just shut down.  All passion and joy seem to have left my body and the song  "What's It All About Alfie!" starts blaring in my head.

Today we have much information at our very fingertips, maybe too much.  We have a go-zillion radio programs, TV programs, YouTube videos, face book and all the other social media articles and much much more.

So if all that were gone how would you know what to do?

You know what happens when you assume right?  You make a big fat guess!

I had someone unsubscribe to my newsletter today because they said they assumed I was a Christian (here we go again) instead the called me a New Ager Surprised and a Pantheist. Honestly I had to look pantheist up!  They added because of my title of Inspirational Speaker and my alcohol recovery they mis-took me as a Christian.  What did that mean exactly?

SymbolMy last blog showed one of the responses from my blog who cares about the symbols!  This is my issue, why do people attack?  Only when they are scared and threatend!  So if God is so prevalent in their lives how could they be so afraid as to want to attack?  You decide.

This next response comes from Phil Martin.  Now I don't know Phil Martin but he sent this email and then CALLED ME on the phone!  (Who does that?) Believe me I got schooled in the ways of the Lord from Phil!  What was even more peculier was Phil copied Andre Galloway on his email and asked if I knew Andre during his telephone evangelistic call!  Turns out Andre Galloway President of Women of Vision a Dallas Christian organization is the one who forwarded my email to Phil in the first place!  What?

I contacted Andre who said yes she did forward my newsletter but hadn't really read the article. (huh?) When asked what her response was to the email by Phil she stated she had been too busy to read it. (what?) When asked if Phil was associate with WOV she said yes but wasn't sure in what capacity. (get me a drink!)   Yes isn't that what we all do, forward articles that we haven't read to people we don't really know and then act as if it was all normal behavior!

The real question is does Women of Vision use a 3rd party (Phil the Mortgage Broker) to express opinions that they openly cannot express?

You decide!  Here is the email to me from Phil Martin:

SymbolsSo I love the fact that you are reading the newsletter and you actually did respond to last weeks blog.  However I was shocked at the condescending attitude and anger that came forth from two groups that have God and Faith in the forefront of their business!

The first response came from Pam Hatchard who is the founder and CEO of FaithCo a multi-level marketing jewelry company (fabulous jewelry I might add!) but here was Pam's response:  Get some Coffee it's long!

During a discussion this weekend a statement was made in regards to the unbelievability at the fact that prayer has been taken out of the school and the words "In God We Trust" could be taken off our objects of money.  And I politely say..."Who cares about the symbols or the fact that prayer has been taken out of most schools!" Now that might get most of you saying, "are you kidding DeDe?" No I'm not and here's why.  Many symbols in our world are just that, symbols with no depth or embodiment of what the symbols actually stand for.  The words "In God We Trust" sound really great when things are going the way we think they should. Reverse that situation and all those that are screaming about the loss of symbols go weak in the knees, with  hearts and minds racing with worry and fear not a trace of peace and stability that comes with the embodiment of trusting in God.

If we say we believe something shouldn't that be evident in the toughest of times? Symbols give us a false sense of embodiment and comfort.  They have become meaningless and to some extent have given us an excuse to move further and further away from the truth that we don't need a symbol to keep us safe and secure.  We need a knowing.  An unwavering knowing in that which we say we believe.
